Skin Sanitisers and their effects

The drying effect of alcohol-based hand sanitisers

In the current situation we find ourselves in, the need to keep our hands clean has become a priority and necessity. It is recommended to use a sanitiser with high alcohol content in the best efforts to kill off the virus. And an alcohol-free sanitiser is proven to be less effective. Therefore the demand for a sanitiser that contains more than 60-70% alcohol is high.

But in slathering the gel over our hands and between our fingers to eliminate the risk of the virus spreading, our hands are suffering. Dry, rough areas are likely to appear as they are being stripped of needed moisture and essential oils.

Soap & Water

Experts do say that soap and water are still the best at eliminating the virus. Washing for at least 20 seconds with warm water (not cold) are more effective than sanitisers at removing certain types of germs. The Outback Tea Tree Skin Wash contains pure organic tea tree oil which is a natural antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral and is also a natural sanitiser. It can be used all over both the face and body as a rinse of cleanser, hand wash and shower gel. The Skin Wash deeply cleans, without stripping or drying the skin.

Convenient Cleaning

However, if you do find yourself out and about and a sink with soap is not an option for you, a sanitiser is your best solution. We recommend Depil8’s Essential Sanitizer which contains 70% alcohol and Tea Tree Left Oil Extract. To eliminate the drying of your hands after using a sanitiser, use a lotion to add needed moisture back to your hands. But, be sure to sanitise correctly before potentially wiping it all away with a moisturiser. Follow these helpful tips to ensure your hands are clean and healthy.

Tips

  • Make sure you’re using the correct amount of sanitiser (check the label).
  • Ensure you rub it all over the surfaces of both hands.
  • Rub it in until your hands are dry.
  • Do not wipe or wash your hands after applying.
