Waxing In Pregnancy
When waxing a pregnant client there are a few slight alterations to make to a treatment to make your client more comfortable and safer.
If waxing an area such as the legs or underarms, keep the back of your couch slightly elevated, as this reduces the pressure on the lower back. This can also be done for many areas of the bikini and intimate waxing.
Lying on the front can also be a problem, particularly as pregnancy progresses and this can make certain areas (such as the back of the leg) trickier to wax. We would suggest you roll your client on to their side and pull the top leg up to provide support as shown in the videos.
Due to the changes in blood flow during pregnancy, you can also find that waxing feels more painful so it's important to ensure that you're supporting the skin as much as possible with your stretching and waxing in smaller patches.
When a client is pregnant, we recommend not waxing at all in the first trimester. Once a client has passed the first three months you are ok to continue waxing right up until the end, providing treatments are undertaken with care and any necessary adjustments to keep everyone safe and comfortable.
