Waxing Essentials FAQs
What are waxing essentials?
Waxing essentials are the tools and disposable items that help professionals carry out hygienic, effective waxing treatments. These include paper strips, spatulas, gloves, couch rolls, collar rings, wax equipment cleaners and more. They may not be the star of the show, but they’re critical for safety, cleanliness and smooth application.
What makes Outback Organics’ essentials range different?
We’ve designed our essentials to be reliable, salon-grade and compatible with the rest of the Outback Organics system. That means they work seamlessly with our waxes, help reduce mess, and hold up to repeated use in busy salons. Where possible, we also choose materials that are biodegradable or responsibly sourced.
Are the paper wax strips reusable?
No – all Outback Organics paper wax strips are intended for single-use only. This ensures a high standard of hygiene and reduces the risk of cross-contamination between clients. They’re strong, flexible and tear-resistant, helping to remove wax cleanly with minimal residue.
What’s the difference between body, facial and mini spatulas?
The main differences are size and shape. Body spatulas are wider and better suited for large areas like legs or backs. Facial spatulas are narrower for precise application on areas like the upper lip or jawline. Mini facial and eyebrow spatulas are ideal for highly detailed work and for applying peelable waxes in smaller zones.
Do I need to use collar rings?
Collar rings help protect your wax heater from spills and drips. They’re especially useful during busy days when cleaning between clients needs to be quick and efficient. Our collar rings are designed to fit snugly on 800g tins and come in packs of 50 for convenience.
What kind of gloves are best for waxing?
Glove choice is often down to therapist preference, but we offer a full range: latex, nitrile and vinyl. Nitrile gloves tend to offer the best combination of sensitivity and strength, while latex gloves give great stretch and comfort. All our gloves are medical-grade, reducing the risk of skin reactions.
How does the wax equipment cleaner work?
Our citrus-scented cleaner is used to remove wax residue from equipment and surfaces. Simply apply it undiluted with a cloth and wipe clean. It’s important to wear gloves during use and avoid skin or eye contact. This cleaner is not suitable for application on skin and should always be patch tested on delicate surfaces.
What’s the couch roll made from?
Our couch rolls are made from strong, soft paper that tears easily along pre-cut perforations. They provide a hygienic barrier between client and treatment bed, improving cleanliness and reducing laundry. We offer both 10-inch and 20-inch rolls to suit different couch sizes.
Are the cotton products lint-free?
Yes – our anti-linting cotton discs are designed to leave no fibres behind. They’re especially useful in facial treatments or when cleansing skin before waxing. We also offer cotton wool balls and paper-stem buds, all made from high-quality cotton that’s gentle on skin.
Can these products be used outside of waxing treatments?
Many of them can. Spatulas, couch rolls, gloves, cotton and disinfectants are all used widely across facial, massage, brow and body treatments. Even our thermometer can be used to check product temperatures beyond wax, making these essentials a smart investment across your whole menu.
