What is the purpose of pre- and post-depilation skincare?
Pre- and post-depilation products are designed to support the waxing process before and after hair removal. Pre-depilation care focuses on cleansing and preparing the skin to improve wax adhesion and reduce discomfort. Post-depilation care soothes, hydrates and protects the skin after waxing, helping to reduce redness, prevent ingrown hairs and promote faster recovery.
Can I use these products with any Outback Organics wax?
Yes. Every product in the post and pre-depilation range is developed to be fully compatible with all Outback Organics waxes – including strip, peelable, cartridge and classic formulas. Whether you’re working with sensitive areas or larger zones, these products help create the right conditions for smooth and effective hair removal.
Are all the products in this range vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. The entire pre- and post-depilation range is vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. We do not test on animals, and none of the products in this category contain animal-derived ingredients. This commitment applies across both in-salon and retail aftercare formulas.
Which products should be used before waxing?
Before waxing, it’s important to cleanse and lightly prep the skin. Our Gel Cleanser removes sweat, oils and skincare residue without drying. Botanical Oil should be applied after cleansing to create a protective barrier between wax and skin. For intimate waxing, our biodegradable Intimate Wipes offer a fresh and hygienic pre-treatment option. Tea Tree Skin Wash may also be used before shaving or waxing at home.
What should I use to soothe the skin after waxing?
Our post-depilation products include a range of options to calm and protect the skin. Aloe Vera Gel offers instant cooling relief, while Bush Balm provides deep moisturising and reduces redness, especially in intimate or sensitive areas. Post Wax Lotion is ideal for larger areas and has a light, silky texture. For back, chest or leg waxing, Post Wax Spray helps prevent pimples and irritation, especially on breakout-prone skin.
Can I use these products on sensitive skin?
Yes. The formulas are suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and reactive skin. Many of the products are fragrance-free or contain naturally calming ingredients such as aloe vera, green tea, rosehip and cucumber. Bush Balm and Aloe Vera Gel, in particular, are ideal for clients prone to redness, inflammation or ingrown hairs.
Are these products for professional use only?
Most of the range is designed for salon use by trained professionals, particularly products like Gel Cleanser and Post Wax Lotion in large sizes. However, many items are also suitable for at-home care, including Aloe Vera Gel, Bush Balm, Tea Tree Skin Wash and our Face & Body Scrub. These help extend the results of waxing treatments and maintain skin health between appointments.
How do I prevent ingrown hairs after waxing?
To help prevent ingrown hairs, it’s important to exfoliate regularly and keep the skin hydrated. Our Face & Body Scrub gently removes dead skin cells without being abrasive, and can be used two to three times a week. Between treatments, apply Bush Balm or Hand and Body Lotion to keep the skin soft and conditioned. After waxing, Post Wax Spray can also help reduce follicle blockages. We have also developed a serum to help reduce ingrown hairs. We suggest to use the ingrown hair serum 24 hours after waxing.
Do these products contain synthetic fragrance or harsh ingredients?
No. All products are free from parabens, mineral oils and synthetic colourants. Some do contain essential oils for their natural fragrance and skin benefits, such as lemon myrtle or tea tree oil. We also offer fragrance-free options like Gold Strip Wax, Bush Balm and Aloe Vera Gel for clients with sensitivities.
Can I retail these products to clients?
Yes. Many of the post-depilation products are available in smaller retail sizes that can be sold directly to clients. These include Aloe Vera Gel, Bush Balm, Tea Tree Skin Wash and Face & Body Scrub. Post Wax Cards are also available to support your retail conversations, offering simple care guidance clients can follow at home.
