Cartridge Wax FAQs
What are wax cartridges?
Wax cartridges are pre-filled, single-use wax containers with a fixed roller head. They’re designed for fast, even application of strip wax, making them ideal for high-volume treatments. Simply warm the cartridge, roll the wax onto the skin, and remove it with a waxing strip.
What are the benefits of using cartridge wax?
Cartridges help reduce treatment time and mess. The fixed roller head ensures even distribution of wax, and the compact format is easy to handle. They’re particularly useful for speed waxing and allow you to cover large areas efficiently – perfect for legs, backs and arms.
Which areas of the body are cartridge waxes best for?
Cartridge wax is best suited for large, flat areas like the legs, arms, back and chest. It’s not recommended for small or contoured areas like the face or bikini line, where a peelable wax would offer better control and comfort.
How many full-leg waxes do I get from a 100g cartridge?
One 100g wax cartridge is enough for 1 full set of legs. This includes both the front and back of the thighs and lower legs on both sides.
Do the cartridges come in different scents and colours?
Yes. Our cartridge range includes a variety of fragrances and colours to suit client preferences. Options include the citrus and botanical notes in True Blue, fruity bubblegum in Amethyst, and calming eucalyptus in Jade. We also offer fragrance-free choices like Gold, and traditional formulas like Tea Tree Crème.
Are your cartridge waxes vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes, all of our cartridge waxes are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. They contain no animal-derived ingredients and are never tested on animals. Each cartridge is also paraben-free and formulated without mineral oil.
How long does a cartridge last?
This depends on the treatment area and how much wax is used per client, but generally one 100g cartridge is enough for a full leg wax. Many therapists find them more economical because the roller head limits excess application.
Can I use cartridges for facial or intimate waxing?
We wouldn’t recommend it. The roller heads are designed for speed and surface coverage rather than precision. For facial, underarm or intimate areas, peelable waxes offer more control and a gentler experience.
What temperature should I heat the cartridge to?
Our cartridge waxes work best when heated to between 55°C and 65°C. Use a professional cartridge heater and always test the wax before application to ensure it’s at a safe, workable temperature. The wax should have a fluid, creamy consistency when ready.
Do the cartridges fit all wax heaters?
Outback Organics cartridges are a standard size and will fit most professional cartridge heaters. For best performance, we recommend using them with compatible Outback Organics heating equipment.
Are cartridge heads reusable?
No. All Outback Organics cartridges come with fixed roller heads that are designed for single-client use. This supports better hygiene practices and helps prevent cross-contamination between treatments.
