How Therapists Can Reduce Ingrowing Hairs

In the video above, our trainer Claire explains how an ingrowing hair occurs and a little of what you can do to avoid them during the waxing treatment.

To summarise, if a hair is overstretched during a waxing treatment (often by being pulled in the wrong direction) the hair will snap at some point along the shaft, and then it will coil around itself back in to the hair follicle. As the hair then continues to grow, it cannot escape the follicle and will grow inwards. To prevent the ingrown hair, ensure hair is removed against the direction of hair growth and keep the skin hydrated.
